You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!
What should we bring?
Outside of the basics (sunscreen, hats, swim suits, towels, comfy cruisin’ clothes), we also encourage you to bring your own snacks and beverages. We will provide you with a cooler full of ice and complementary water, that’s big enough to keep all your drinks ice cold! We’ll also have a garbage can on board for any trash, but please make sure to take everything that you bring with you on the boat, off the boat!
Can we bring alcohol?
Absolutely! Adults 21+ with a valid ID are more than welcome to enjoy their alcoholic beverages on board. We just ask that you do not bring glass - cans or plastic bottles only, please. And remember, please drink responsibility!
Can more than six people come on the boat?
Unfortunately, no. Legally, we can only accommodate six guests, and one Captain.
Can we bring our kids?
Yes, children are allowed on all private cruises. That said, all children under the age of 12 must wear a life jacket at all times while on the boat. Our boat is equipped with life jackets of all sizes, but if you have one of your own for your child, we highly encourage you to bring it to ensure the proper fit.
Please note that our Tiki can only accommodate six guests, so your child will be considered one guest, allowing for five more guests (for example) to cruise. If you are planning on bringing a child on your cruise, please reach out to us in advance letscruise@thetropicaltiki.com with your booking ID to let our crew know so that we can ensure the proper life jacket size.
Unfortunately, we do not allow children on our public cruises.
Should we wear our bathing suits?
Totally up to you! That said, our Captains know all the hot spots and will happily bring you to the best sandbars (if you’d like) to let you jump out, cool off and hang as long as your reservation allows!
Wearing your suit for a sunset cruise is not necessary as the star of the show is our gorgeous glowing sun and you’ll likely stay on the boat for the duration of the cruise.
Should we be tipping our Captain?
We highly encourage you to tip your Captain, especially if you had a great experience The Tropical Tiki. 20% is customary, but completely up to you if you’d like to tip more. Each of our Captains are highly-trained and certified, so you should feel confident to kickback, relax and enjoy the ride!
Do you have bathrooms on board?
Unfortunately, no. Our Tiki is not equipped with restrooms, so we encourage our guests to use the restroom before leaving the dock. There are restrooms at the pick-up/drop-off location, however, we can stop along the route at a restaurant or sandbar, if needed!
What is your cancellation and inclement weather policy?
All bookings are fully-refundable up until 48 hours prior to your reservation, if you need to cancel for any reason. If you need to reschedule your cruise, you can do so up to 24 hours in advance of your reservation. But please make sure to reach out as soon as possible so that we can try to accommodate your request.
We reserve the right to cancel any cruise, at any time, due to weather, safety, mechanical or behavioral issues on board. If your cruise is canceled, you will be given an opportunity to re-schedule for another date. However, if a cruise is canceled, or returns early due to behavioral issues, no refunds or re-books will be granted.
For weather-related issues, our Tiki will still depart if there is light rain, as 90% of the boat is covered. In the event of a heavier shower, the Captain may attempt to wait out the rain or reschedule for another day. If weather conditions show high winds or thunderstorms, we will cancel the cruise and reach out immediately to reschedule for another date. If you are unable to reschedule, we will provide a full refund.
Are you dog friendly?
Yes! Well-behaved pups are more than welcome on our private tours only, but they must be pre-approved prior to boarding. Please reach out to letscruise@thetropicaltiki.com with your booking ID to let our crew know that you’re planning on bringing your pup!
